 Reminders about the gap (Césure):

•   A justified request may allow for a single uninterrupted period of up to one year.
• The gap ("césure") must form part of the doctoral student's professional, study, or personal project.
• During the “césure” the doctoral student completely suspends their research work.
• The “césure” takes effect at the beginning of the semester. It must occur before the second semester of the third year of the full-time equivalent thesis.

If the doctoral student benefits from funding dedicated to the preparation of the doctorate, the “césure” requires the agreement of the funding organization and the employer.
