Thesis defense at ED GRNE
3rd year PhD students who can defend their thesis before the end of the calendar year do not need to apply for a derogation for additional registration in the 4th year. However, they must submit their request for authorization to present their thesis to the ED office before October 15, and also need to establish an Individual Monitoring Committee.
If the thesis has been in progress for more than 36 months, and in addition to the documents required for this request, an attestation of funding up to the defence must be included.
Steps in the thesis defense procedure in ADUM
• Submission of required documents and manuscript.
• Approval by the DT.
• Approval by the ED administrator. Forwarded to ED management for approval.
• Approval by the ED administration.
• Approval by the school principal. Forwarded to the ED administrator.
• The ED administrator sends letters to the reviewers and provides the link to the manuscript.
• Return of the reports. Date calculated as 21 days prior to the defense date.
• Approval by the DT.
• Approval by the ED administration.
• Approval by the institution head.
• The ED administrator sends out invitations.
• Approval of the defense by the registrar’s office. The link to download the defense documents is sent.
